The Guardians of the Nile
Méhen shields the sun's passage through the night. Sobek carries the strength of the river. Two Egyptian figures, six pieces of gold jewelry.
Egypt through matter
Aker is the double lion standing at both horizons. He guards the passage through which the sun enters the night. This chapter brings together those who keep watch beside him.
The coiling serpent. The crocodile's skin turned armor. Two figures bound by the Nile, rendered in gold, worn close to the skin.
In the Egyptian story, Méhen coils around Ra, the sun god, during the night crossing and shields him from Apophis, the serpent of chaos. His name means "the coiled one."
The ring echoes this movement. The scaled body curves back toward its own head, two marquise emeralds fixing the gaze. The hoops close the same gesture around the ear.

Sobek takes the form of the crocodile. The Egyptians associated this figure with strength and protection.
Its skin becomes a motif of clean plates across the gold. Slim ring, wide band or hoops: each width gives a different presence to the same armor.
